Flowing from Nottingham, up towards Doncaster, this northernmost midlands region offers a great deal for any beer lover or simply curious punter. There are almost 30 breweries in the region demonstrating their passion and craft in this competitive industry.

Right in the heart of Nottingham, you will find Black Iris Brewery, and just slightly further north of the city centre is Blue Monkey Brewery who has a number of pubs in the region, all under the guise of The Organ Grinder.

Blue Monkey Brewery has a large range of beers available all with names relating to different monkey species, such as 99 Red Baboons and Funky Gibbon. You can sample many of their beers in one of their five pubs or one one of their popular brewery tours which get booked up pretty quickly!

Black Iris is a craft brewer producing a range which is daring and interesting to the eye and the taste. Their city centre location lends itself well to a diverse range of people and they frequently host live music events right next to where they make the beer. So if you’re thirsty and like music then there aren’t many better places to go! They also have some pretty cool merch for all those fans out there.

Lincoln Green Brewing is North of Nottingham and a few miles south of Sherwood Forest, where it draws inspiration from a famous past for many of its beer names. Lincoln Green brew a traditional range of ales with names such as Marion, Hood, Archer and Tuck, with an obvious nod to Robin Hood who once roamed these parts. The beer and the brewery goes well beyond the names however, and was the winner of SIBA’s 2019 ‘UK’s Best Independent Craft Beer Retailer - Multiple’
