This is part of a brewpub chain with outposts in Cardiff, London and Reading, Bristol’s version is a big open bar, high-ceilinged and light with windows looking out over the Colston district of the city.
The brewing kit is also on display, a naked animal of stainless steel pipes and tanks, high above the bar, while the aroma of the mash pervades the space during brewing time; even though you might not need another reason to visit how about the fact that...
The beer is served from tanks which means you cannot get beer fresher than this
There is a core range of five beers, including The Bohemian, The Beast (a dark lager inspired by the Schwarzbier style of Thuringia and Saxony) and Downtown, a fruity American pale ale; the brewing team are also like to get creative with speciality beers now and again, so you might end up coming face to face with a coffee lager or a black cherry porter. As might be expected, given that Zerodegrees is also a restaurant, beer and food matching is an absolute necessity. One favourite match is that of the wood-fired pizzas with a long glass of the Bohemian pilsner, which some maintain is divine in its inspiration.
